The Dart Throwers
This charming pair of children come from H Crowther’s celebrated foundry.
We were delighted to find this gorgeous pair of lead figures, which feature in manufacturer H Crowther’s 1930s illustrated catalogue.
Henry Crowther’s father was a talented stone and marble mason, who founded a garden ornaments business in the 1880s. Influenced by his father’s trade, Henry opened a lead foundry in Chiswick in 1908, making lead garden ornaments. A family business to this day, these lovely dart throwers were recently restored by Henry’s grandson! We think they make a gorgeous, characterful little pair.
English, circa 1930.
