Very rare pair of Arras Jardinieres

An incredibly rare pair of Arras Jardinieres in original condition. They were first seen in the original Arras catalogue of 1874. The term "Arras" refers to garden furniture produced by the company Gassin Baledans in the eponymous French region between 1840 and 1920, from semi-hollow steel tubing. The hoof feet date the plant stand to around 1900. Upon the wrought iron frame sits a wire basket with their original zinc liners. The frame continues upwards branching off with wrought iron flower motifs and zinc plant holders. Designed to allow the owner to create their own designs in a structured way this piece could light up a garden room or conservatory evolving creatively with each seasons.
