Pair of Faux Bois Chairs

A gorgeous pair of faux bois chairs in very good condition. Faux bois means "false or fake wood" and comes from a technique used in France since the Renaissance to imitate natural-looking wood. Talented craftsmen called "Rocailleurs" used materials including cement to create the wood like effect even simulating the loss of bark and woodworm! This pair is a fine example of the craft and whilst looking great they have the added benefit of being quite comfortable to sit on as well!!
