Pair of Confit Pots

This attractive pair would have been used in France for storing food in the 19th century. They would have been buried in the ground up to the glazed to keep the likes of pates and cheeses cool in the hot weather. They now make lovely decorative items. This pair both have an element of green glaze on the body which complements the ochre glaze around the top. French circa 1850
