French Copper Lantern
This large candle/paraffin lantern was manufactured by Gillet Forest in Paris at around the turn of the century. Gillet Forest manufactured cars from about 1890 until they closed in 1908. They also made lanterns for the railways, other car manufacturers and for the domestic market. This very attractive brass lantern with a untouched verdigris patina could be fitted with an electric light or used with candles to create an intimate ambiance and has many decorative uses .
