A Victorian riveted copper copper in very good condition.
Formerly known simply as "a copper", this lovely planter would have been used to boil water in a Victorian kitchen or scullery. It's a good size, so would make an excellent log basket or coal scuttle as well as a superb pot for a large plant.
Copper is extremely on-trend in interior design at the moment, and its decorative rivets give it a rather industrial "steampunk" edge. It has started to show a verdegris patina, which will continue to develop if the pot is used outdoors.
English, circa 1880.
