Terracotta and Copper Washing Ponne

A very attractive terracotta ponne which would have been used for washing clothes in the 19th century. Unusually this ponne was originally framed with copper as can be seen from a couple of area of wear. The copper was used to fully waterproof as well as providing the shape for the terracotta to be applied on either side. A drainage hole is also incorporated which is ideal for its alternative use as a stylish planter.
