Large Tazza urn
A huge cast iron 19th century Tazza urn with a really lovely patina.
This large cast iron Tazza urn has the scale and presence to make a wonderful statement piece. "Tazza" is from the Italian for cup, and refers to a wide but shallow vessel on a stem - a perfect description of this elegant urn's shape. With the classic ear and dart motif on the rim, a shallow and plain body, and a fluted base with a waisted socle (base), this is an excellent example of its type.
In its original, untouched condition, the very attractive patina is a mix of grey paint with a white undercoat showing through in the faded areas.
French, circa 1850
