19th Century Tree Seat
A gorgeous and very rare early 19th century tree bench, which would grace any garden.
Unbelievably, this was found abandoned in the corner of a garden in Lyon - who could ignore such an exquisite bench?
Still with its original paintwork, it comprises a latticework seat riveted to a simple wrought iron frame. It comes in two halves which clip together to surround a suitable tree trunk. It looks absolutely wonderful in situ around a tree, and it's hard to believe it's almost two centuries old!
French, circa 1830
Height:50cm; Diameter 140cm
