A pair of rare Galloway pottery glazed earthenware tapering cylindrical planters with makers stamp Galloway Pottery, Philadelphia. These planters feature a highly attractive crackle effect in the glaze and are large enough to accommodate a small tree or large shrub. In 1876 the Galloway Terra-Cotta Company, won the Philadelphia 1876 exposition, the Chicago exposition, and the St. Louis Exposition. During that era, Galloway was one of the leading pottery companies in the United States.
